The year was 1945.
In the city of Florence, destroyed by the war just ended, Silvano
Mchelassi, a youn boy of 16 and last of 4 brothers, entered the world of
work.
With the ethusiasm and the resourcefulness characteristic of his
generation, moved by the spirit typical of the years after war, he began
his career in a little florentine tie-workshop, obteining the necessary
experience to give life to his own prestigious activty, but also able to
open the roads to “Made in Italy” fashion. The name chosen by Silvano
for his “brain-child” had to be |
|
a union between tradition
and modernity, Florentine parochialism as well as availability to
international markets:this is how Florence Style was born.
In his small workshop, at a few steps from Piazza San Marco, Silvano,
with the precious help of his wife Valentina, and other trusted
collaborators, created and developed collections of men's ties and
accessories made of pure silk. Together they managed to build a personal
clientele, both Italian and foreign, that continuosly enriched itself
with new and prestigious names. Florence Style grew year |
|
after year: the main office
became larger and was transferred from the center of Florence to a more
confortable setting, on the slopes of the Fiesole hills.
In the 80's, Massimo, Silvano and Valentina's son, entered into the
family business, giving Florence Style its current modern characteristcs
– a dynamic and flexible business, opening the doors to new frontiers
and objecetives.
The whole family awaits you in their new show-room which can be found
immersed in the splendid green hills of Chianti Ruffino. |
